About our Wisconsin founder and why he chose these DJs:
Elliott "Ness" Harris
I’m Elliott — the founding DJ of Alternative Wedding DJs in the Milwaukee–Madison corridor.
Straight out of high school, I began DJing radio shows, got a degree from Arizona’s Conservatory of Recording Arts & Sciences, and then landed in LA at the legendary Can Am Studios (the studio that Dr Dre recorded at and that helped shape the sound of 90’s hip hop).
Family brought me back to the Midwest. But I brought the music with me.
I started curating shows, producing stages, and booking DJs for rooftop parties, hotel lounges, and private events in Omaha, Nebraska. I became known as the go-to guy to make things happen, earning me nominations for several awards. I also got really good at DJing weddings for AWDJ.
I was asked to be the Director of Entertainment at Harmonic Hospitality Group here in Madison. It’s now my full-time job to find and book talent at Roxxy and The Stuffed Olive. So it was a natural fit to open an AWDJ office here in Madison to bring the company’s visionary concept to weddings and events.
Out of the dozens of DJs that I work with, I’ve hand-selected the group you’re about to see. They balance the skills of club DJs with the finesse needed for weddings, corporate, and private events.
If you’re planning an event, we’d be honored to help you find a fantastic DJ. Just let us know how we can help you.
He has an infectious energy and a big smile that people just love to be around. Musically, he’s probably one of our most versatile DJs, jumping into everything from Hip Hop & RNB over to country and Latin. He wins over the crowd and ensures all the event logistics are running smoothly. Madison based.
She came to us with a resume I don't see very often. Hotel bar residencies in Bangkok — the W Hotel, Sofitel, rooftop spots 39 floors up. Now she's in Madison playing the Museum of Contemporary Art, Olbrich Botanical Garden, and the Orpheum Theater. Her range is crazy — disco, funk, deep house, drum and bass, acid jazz, open format. She knows how to read a room because she's been doing it in rooms most DJs will never step foot in. Madison based.
Recording artist and open-format DJ who’s played at standout venues like Saint Kate Arts Hotel, Il Cervo Rooftop, and events across the U.S. He brings the soul of a storyteller to every set — blending real emotion, impeccable taste, and dance-floor energy. He’s a true artist who knows how to make a wedding feel unforgettable.
Full-time DJ that does club events under NowRitmo and has a gift for turning out a dance floor at weddings. You can also find him in the DJ booth at Forward Madison FC games.
Madison based.

Our DJs come from the nightclub and music festival scene — they mix live, read the crowd, and keep the energy moving all night. We're not a typical wedding DJ company that plays a preset playlist. Our Wisconsin DJs are working professionals with real nightclub and entertainment experience in the Madison and Milwaukee market.

Fill out the contact form on this page or schedule a call. We'll confirm availability for your date, match you with a DJ, and walk you through next steps. A 25% deposit holds your date. The remaining balance is due one week before the wedding. We recommend booking 9 to 12 months out for peak season (May through October).
-
No. Our DJs make the announcements that need to happen (grand entrance, first dance, cake cutting, dismissing tables) and otherwise stay out of the way. We're directional, not performative. Most couples want less mic, not more.
-
Yes, always. We've had the honor of DJing many LGBTQIA+ weddings and it's some of our favorite work.
-
Nope! Luckily nightclub-trained doesn't mean ear-splitting. Reading the room means reading the volume too — it's common to see us walk the dance floor mid-action to feel how it's landing. And don't get shy about letting us know if it's ever too loud.
-
Totally your call! We're here to help you have a great time in whatever way that counts. Some couples want zero Cha Cha Slide and zero "everybody who's single get out here." Others want a couple of crowd-pleasers and a fun moment or two. We're great either way. What we won't do is force games to manufacture a dance floor because we couldn't fill it with music. Want the participation stuff? We'll do it well. Want none of it? It never happens.
-
If you want it, yes. If you don't, you'll never hear it. Country is the one genre couples feel strongest about in both directions, so we don't assume. And we got DJs that live that Country life if that's what you want.
How to book your wedding DJ
Planning a wedding is stressful enough. We make booking your DJ the easy part. Here's how it works:
Send us your event details through the contact form, or grab a spot on our meeting calendar.
We'll have a 30-minute discovery meeting — phone or video, your pick. We'll talk about your music taste, your venue, your guests, and answer any questions you have.
Afterwards, we send a meeting summary, info on which specific DJs are available, and a contract and deposit link if you wanna move forward.
After signing, we’ll connect you to your DJ or planner. Closer to the wedding, you'll meet with your specific DJ to walk through your day-of schedule and music preferences.
That's it.
Four steps. No hard sells, no pressure, no surprises.
Check your date with us below — or grab a call slot if you'd rather talk it through first.
